Landscape Update

We have had a particularly tumultuous winter this year with extreme weather conditions such as sustained and heavy rains and winds. With all of the landscape and tall, mature trees in the community, that could have been a recipe for disaster. The Board of Directors would like to acknowledge and thank the landscape team at Moulton Ranch III for their efforts in keeping the property well-maintained and damage-free throughout the winter season. There was potential for a lot of things to go wrong, and the landscape team managed the conditions well and quickly addressed any issues, preserving the beauty and safety of the community. We know everyone is ready to welcome the Spring and the sunny, warmer weather!

There is some landscape throughout the community that is aging and in need of replacement. The Association’s landscaper will be planting new plants at both the Oso and Vista Viejo entrances this Spring. The iceberg roses have not been doing well and will be replaced with Mexican Sage, which are more resilient and will add some color with their purple flowers. The corner of Woodbluff and Green Hills will also be renovated, with the day lilies and lantana being replaced with Mexican Sage and pittosporum. The Board and Landscape Committee will continue to monitor the landscape throughout the community and address any areas that are in need of refurbishment.

Furthermore, there are several planting projects that have been approved on the slopes over the past few months that could not be done due to the slopes being too saturated. These projects will start to be scheduled as the weather warms up and the slopes dry out.

Lastly, the annual weed abatement on the slope from Bridlewood to Cabot along Oso Parkway, Artichoke Hill and Woodbluff has been completed by the landscaper. There is a good chance that this may need to be done again in the next couple of months due to the amount of rain, and will be completed if necessary.
