Communitywide Tree Removal, Trimming and Replacement Project
Posted By rhart on August 13, 2021
All of the tree removals and trimming that were approved as part of the communitywide project have been completed as of July 2021 by Vargas Tree Service. Vargas Tree Service has also completed the trimming of all of the pepper trees on the slopes, with the exception of the pepper trees along the Nellie Gail horse trail behind 26961 through 27091 Falling Leaf. The City of Laguna Hills is currently holding a summer camp in the area and requested these not be trimmed until after until August 14, 2021. Vargas will finish the trimming of these trees by August 31, 2021.
The Board is planning on completing the replanting phase of the project this fall after the weather cools down to help ensure the survival of the new plantings. A proposal from Brian William Smith Landscaping has been approved to replant certain areas of the slopes based on the following criteria:
(1) Privacy concerns in areas where trees were removed
(2) Erosion control in bare areas
(3) Aesthetics
The areas will be replanted with appropriate ground cover in addition to trees and shrubs from the approved slope plant palette. The approved slope plant palette can be viewed by visiting the Resident Portal at resident.actionlife.com. Go to the Documents section of My Community and click on Landscape to access the documents.
If you would like to know if a certain area is included in the replanting scope, please contact the Community Manager.
The Association will provide updates to the community regarding this project as it progresses.
