In August, all homeowners were sent a ballot to vote for proposed amendments to the Association’s CC&Rs and Bylaws. The purpose of the amendments is to update these important documents so that they are in compliance with current laws, streamline the documents by removing unnecessary verbiage so that they are clear and concise, and clarify vague language in the CC&Rs with respect to the Association’s maintenance responsibilities to minimize uncertainty and protect the Association from unintended consequences and liabilities.
The Board of Directors has gone to great effort and expense in carefully drafting these amendments in conjunction with the Association’s legal counsel and getting them reviewed and approved the homeowners. In order to adopt the proposed amendments, 394 of the 525 homeowners must vote in favor of approving the amendments. Only 100 ballots have been received, meaning that hundreds more are needed in order to be able to open and tally the ballots.
We need your participation in this process in order to approve the proposed amendments. All homeowners who have submitted their ballots will be entered into a raffle at the meeting when the ballots are opened and tallied. Six (6) homeowners’ names will be drawn and will be eligible to receive one of the prizes listed above. Please note that you must be in good standing (current in your monthly dues and no active noncompliance issues) to be eligible for a prize.
The Association will attempt to open and tally the ballots if a sufficient number are received at the December 3rd meeting at 6 PM at the Laguna Hills Community Center. If you have not yet submitted your ballot, please do so as soon as possible.
